How do I know what I owe the university?Students can view their eBill by logging onto the UNC Charlotte Website and logging into 49er Express at www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/ Students may authorize family and friends to view their eBill. An Authorized User can view the student’s bill by logging on at https://ecom.uncc.edu/C21561_tsa/web/login.jsp As of November 2007, The University’s new electronic billing system will be the official means of generating tuition bills to students. Paper bills will no longer be mailed. Students and additional users they authorize will receive a monthly e-mail if a balance is due to the University, including Payment Plan participants.

Why am I being billed fees along with my tuition?UNC Charlotte is a publicly supported institution and primarily receives its revenue from the State of NC appropriations in addition to tuition and fees. It is the combination of tuition and fess that primarily supports the operations and expansion of UNC Charlotte. Tuition and fees are approved by the Student Representatives, UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees, and the UNC Board of Governors. Tuition rates are also approved by the NC General Assembly.
What are the fees billed to me and what are they for?Ed & Tech Fee – This fee is directly related to the infrastructure supporting student technology needs across campus including hardware and software applications, supplies for educational materials, web services, laboratory expenses and equipment, public student computing labs, central email and internet services, training classes and classroom, and central help desk services. General Fees – This is a consolidated fee that relates to University debt service payments (to construct new facilities and purchase administrative computing systems) and to support other activities/operations including Athletics programs and events, the Health Services Center that serves our student population, Student Activity Center operations, and Cone Center operations. ID fee – This fee supports the University’s 49er Card operations and support. The ID card is not only used for identification purposes, but also as a library card and as a campus card for dining and vending purchases. UNC System Student Assoc Fee – This fee is a University of NC system-wide fee charged to all system students to support the University Of NC Association Of Student Governments. This association is a student led advocacy group whose main purpose is to ensure that the benefits of the University of NC are extended to the people of NC, as far as practicable, free of expense.
Are there payment plans available?Payment plans are offer by UNC Charlotte and can be enroll in by logging onto 49er Express at www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/. Authorized User can enroll in a payment plan to assist the student with their bill by logging into https://ecom.uncc.edu/C21561_tsa/web/login.jsp. Students must establish family and friends as authorized users before an authorized user can access the students account. To establish an Authorized User the student must access their student financial information on 49er Express at www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/.
How do I pay online?Online Student Payments can be made through the student’s 49er Express Account at www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/. Click here for "On-line Payment Intructions" Students must establish family and friends as authorized users before an authorized user can access the students account. www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/ Authorized User, can make payments online by logging on at https://ecom.uncc.edu/C21561_tsa/web/login.jsp.
How do I access my Student Account information?
How would I get my refund from Financial Aid?Financial Aid will be posted to your student account when the funds are disbursed by the Financial Aid office. If your student account has a credit balance after your Financial Aid has posted to your account, a refund check will automatically be mailed to you 7-10 days after the refund is applied to your account. Students need to provide a “Student Refund Address” by updating their Personal Information on 49er Express. www.uncc.edu/49erExpress/. If a Student Refund Address is not provided the refund check will be mailed to your permanent address on file.

Why am I being charged Student Health Insurance?STUDENT HEALTH PREMIUMS are charged in the Fall and Spring terms to any undergraduate students taking six or more credit hours, graduate students in degree-seeking programs and all international students. Health insurance can be waived if student is covered under another policy by filling out a waiver at http://www.studenthealth.uncc.edu/student%20health%20insurance%20home2.htm
How do I find out when my Financial Aid will be posted to my account?Financial Aid disbursements are posted to your account by the Financial Aid Department. The disbursement schedule is affected by various issues; you would need to contact the Financial Aid Office to determine your specific situation.
